Dear blogging friends. Yesterday I had an awful day. I was in the middle of starting a new post,when i was cut off by google. Temporary problems.. I then went to re enter my blog and it asked me for my password... i gave my password and the reply was.. wrong one. I knew it was the right one.. but they said i had to change it due to Hackers! to protect myself. I then changed my password. Well dear friends.. from there on until 11pm last night, I was trying to recover my blog. I fell asleep exhausted and very angry and upset. I followed all the instructions.. but to no avail.. So here I am, with a new blog. Hoping that I will get you all my friends to follow me again. Its - Vals Alentejo.. no apostrophy.!( please note)
Today as you can imagine . I am feeling very down. I can only hope that i get back on track again. I have also lost all my google contacts..
Google then asked me to give a profile of myself.. my age and join circles connected to google.. It reads.. that everybody can see everything.. I am so confused with all this.. I just want to do a straight blog.
So to all my dear friends.. who have joined my site... I hope that you will join this new one so i can see you all again.

Hi Val, I'm sorry you had such an awful day yesterday with everything going wrong. I have found you and through bloglovin I can still see all your old posts.

Oh dear Val, I can only imagine what a nightmare all this has been for you! I'm already following you on Bloglovin anyway, have used it for quite some time. I would advise you to back up your blog every week just in case of any future problems and hopefully, if there are any, you will then be able to restore it. I do back up at least once a month and hope, should anything happen that it will restore as it's supposed to. AS much as we love blogging, blogger and google can be an absolute pain at times, especially when they are 'tinkering' with things as they both are at the moment. Keep plodding on with it, and have a glass of something to hand to keep you going :)

Oh I can understand your frustration and how upset you must be - I wonder how you back up a blog I think I will look into this just in case.

DeleteHello Val, I found your new blog via Rosemary's but am finding it difficult to become a follower. I don't understand bloglovin, but I could be in trouble too when Google Friends disappears. Could you explain how the Bloglovin works? I tried to follow via Facebook but it asked permission to access all my personal stuff and I was not keen on that. So sorry you lost your old blog, which still shows on my list. That happened to me once, but I forget how I fixed it. xxx

ReplyDeleteI have had such a horrific week with blogger and google.. Not all of us are totally IT savy.!
I had noticed that some of my follwers were putting bloglovin on their side bar.. but didnt know what it was.. So I investigated.
All you have to do Patricia.. is login.. follow step by step.. I signed in with facebook.
It seems google wants us to be more connected and its getting pretty personal.
I lost my friends connect with my members.. but as its finishing end of next month.. this bloglovin seems to be working. It takes a little time. I put up a couple of test posts and i have a couple of good friends following me now.. you have to type in your friends or invite them.. you will do it Patricia.. If you can make beautiful blouses etc., you will do this. Hope your holiday was a good one.

I wondered what happened to you...so sorry you lost everything. Can you back-up your work? My computer guy said Bloglovin was a social network and not for bloggers. Don't let this confuse you, he may be wrong. But, I have decided to not join Bloglovin.

DeleteSo sorry you're having such a rotten time with Blogger, Val. Have you tried changing your password back to your old one and seeing whether you can then log into your old blog? It still exists as I've just viewed it.
ReplyDeleteOne point: I've heard nothing at all about Google Friend Connect finishing next month. It's Google Reader which is being closed down. I'm sure that if you put the Followers widget on your sidebar here, you'll find that we can join that way and still follow you.
